GCT and Christopher Robbie take Sean Street's play, "Beyond Paradise - The Wildlife of a Gentle Man" to Wycombe Abbey School

Charles Darwin

In February this year, Christopher Robbie performed his brilliant one-man play on the life and work of Charles Darwin at Wycombe Abbey School, in Buckinghamshire. It was held in the spectacular theatre at the school's Lancaster Arts Centre. The performance was attended by Mrs Davies, Headmistress of the school, Mrs Sue Jones, Head of Science (who was instrumental in organising the event), members of staff, and the girls. We were delighted that many parents were also able to attend, and Christopher's stunning portrayal of Charles Darwin received rapturous applause!

Our guest of honour was Andrew Darwin, great-great-grandson of Charles Darwin. Andrew had not seen the play before and was greatly impressed. Further links with Wycombe Abbey were discovered when Andrew mentioned that he has Darwin relations who attended the school. GCT was represented by Diana Langley.

We would like to express our thanks to Mrs Davies for inviting us to Wycombe Abbey School, and to Christopher Robbie for his collaboration and unique contribution towards GCT's outreach programme.
